Why Advise

Decisions about AI are still decisions about money.

The hardest AI decisions are not technical ones. They are resource-allocation decisions made under uncertainty. Should we invest a year into a model that may or may not work? Should we sign a vendor contract before the technology stabilises? Should we say no to the entire category for now?

Advise engagements are sized for those questions. We do the reading, we sit in the room, and we deliver a written recommendation specific enough to act on. We are equally happy to recommend doing nothing. We do, often, when that is the right answer.

A structured look at where AI realistically applies in your organisation today. We catalogue the candidate use cases, score them against feasibility and impact, and hand back a ranked list with honest recommendations on which to pursue and which to drop.

Whether the engagement is a half-day consulting session or a twelve-week strategy, the shape is the same.

Free first call

A no-cost conversation to understand the decision, the stakeholders, and the time pressure. We tell you on the call which Advise shape fits and what it would cost.

Materials and access

You send the relevant proposals, architecture diagrams, or strategic context in advance. We come into the engagement having already done the reading.

Working sessions and analysis

One to several working sessions with the right people in the room. We work the problem live and ask the questions that need asking. No deck theatre.

Written recommendation

Every engagement closes with a written recommendation. Specific, dated, owned by you, and structured so you can forward it to your board, your team, or your investors.

Frequently asked questions about Advise engagements.

When does Advise fit better than Create?

Advise is for when the decision has not been made yet, buy or build, vendor A or vendor B, what to do at all. Create is for when the decision is made and the question is execution. If you are still weighing options, you want Advise.

Do you take on ongoing advisory relationships?

By default, no. Every Advise engagement is fixed-scope and time-bounded; a follow-up review six months later is a separate engagement on a fresh quote. A retainer is available when there is a real ongoing advisory need we can name on the call; it is not the default offer.

Are you independent of vendors?

Yes. We do not take referral fees, kickbacks, or reseller margins from any software vendor we might recommend. The only interest we are protecting in an Advise engagement is the client's.

How long do engagements take?

AI Consulting runs from a single half-day session up to a few weeks for deeper work. AI Strategy is typically four to twelve weeks. AI Assessment is one to four weeks. We confirm the exact length on the first call.

Who owns the output?

You do, fully. Every written recommendation, decision log, and assessment artefact is delivered as a document you own outright. No licensing, no perpetual access fees, no “owned by us, shared with you” clauses.

Can we share the recommendation with our board or investors?

Yes, without restriction. The recommendation is written assuming it may be forwarded, so it carries enough context that a board member or investor can read it cold and understand what is being recommended and why.
